This bench in Eugene, OR is dedicated to author Ken Kesey. Kesey wrote One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest and Sometimes A Great Notion. He was a local celebrity.
The statue/bench is named “The Storyteller” and captures Kesey reading to his grandchildren. It was created by Peter Helzer and installed 2 years after Kesey’s death.
This bench was the topic of the second episode of our podcast, Touching Benches.
